Description

3 items (formerly filed among Ordnance Office correspondence concerning barracks at Exeter) extracted from WO 44/562. Devon: Exeter. Three sketch plans showing proposed extensions and improvements to the city water supply system, including a pipe to serve the cavalry barracks in Saint David's parish. Reference table to item (3). Scale: (1-2) 1 inch to 4 chains [1:3,168]; (3) 1 inch to 80 feet [1:960]. Compass indicators to all items. Item (2) lithographed by W C Featherstone, Exeter. Signed by: (1) Captain John Smyth, Royal Engineers; (2) G W Cumming, Civil Engineer and T Whitaker, Surveyor, 30 November 1839; (3) Major F Whinyates, Royal Engineers, 7 July 1842.
