Description

3 items (originally accompanying a letter from Lieutenant Colonel Tylden to the Inspector General of Fortifications, 10 September 1846) extracted from WO 44/562. Kent. (1) 'Outline plan of enclosure walls of the barracks at Canterbury, shewing the property of Mr Kingsford opposite which is offered for sale, House and Outbuildings colored [sic] dark lake, Orchards and Garden yellow'. (2-3) Two sheets of plans and sections of the house and outbuildings. Reference table to item (3) showing areas in disrepair. Scale: (1) 1:1,600; (2-3) 1 inch to 10 feet [1:120]. Compass indicator to item (1). Items (1) and (3) [drawn by] E B Kirton, Clerk of Works, 9 September 1846, and signed by Lieutenant Colonel W B [Tylden], Commanding Royal Engineer.
