'Sketch Shewing the Plan and Situation of Abb's Battery': plan of the coast between Sunderland and North Shields, showing the position of Abb's Battery, south of Whitburn. Within this plan is a plan of the battery at an larger scale. Scale: general plan 7.5 inches to 4 miles [1:33,792]; battery 1 inch to 20 feet [1:240]. Signed by James R Arnold, Lieutenant Colonel, Commanding Royal Engineer, 28 May 1828. Notes on armaments have been added in pencil.
