Also shows the former cutting referred to in Gordon's letter of 6 May 1848 to Mr Elliott. Scale: 1 inch to 10 feet. Drawn by R Howe, Clerk of Works, Royal Engineer Office, Hythe, 24 May 1848. Signed by Alexander Gordon, Captain, Royal Engineers. Initialled by W B Tylden, Lieutenant Colonel, Commanding Royal Engineer, to accompany his letter of 25 May 1848. (2) Plan and section of proposed culvert. Certified by Gordon, 22 May 1847, to be a true copy of a drawing made at the Royal Engineer Office, Hythe, 7 April 1847. Dimensions of sheets: (1) 49 cm x 96 cm; (2) 45 cm x 64 cm.
