13 items extracted from WO 44/2. Plans and drawings of military buildings for the defence of the Eastern Frontier, Cape of Good Hope (now in Eastern Cape province, South Africa). Individual drawings, all at scale 1 inch to 10 feet, are: (1) Guard room, regimental store and prisoners' cells; (2) workshops, serjeants' rooms etc; (3) Commissariat stores; (4) Issuer's quarter, Commissariat Department; (5) officers' quarters; (6) stable for eight officers' horses; (7) gun-shed, magazine and artillery store; (8) barrack for 22 men of the Mounted Rifle Corps; (9) hospital; (10) stable and saddle-room for 24 troop horses; (11) spare barrack for 20 men; (12) additional stabling for 20 troop horses. (13) 'Plan of a Post... for a Military Station on the Eastern Frontier of the Cape of Good Hope'. Scale: 1 inch to 50 feet. All signed by Robert Thomson, Lt Colonel RE, 30 April 1833, to accompany report of that date.
