17 items, numbered 1-5 and 9-20, (enclosures in letter of 23 November 1848 from W Lamb Arrowsmith, Civil Engineer, Superintendent of Government Works, Malta) extracted from WO 44/507. Plans, sections and elevations of proposed works and improvements in Malta: the areas depicted are in Porta Reale [Valletta]; Porte des Bombes, Floriana; French Creek, Marsamxett, Coradin, Senglea, Fort St Angelo, Burmola and St Julian's Bay. The works include the construction of grain fosses, magazines, ramps, roads, coal stores, gas works and warehouses. Each sheet was signed by Arrowsmith on 10 October 1848. Dimensions of sheets: between 63 cm x 105 cm and 21 cm x 56 cm.
A list of the drawings sent in Mr Arrowsmith's letter remains at the parent piece reference; in addition to the 17 drawings filed in this portfolio, 3 others, numbered 6-8, are now filed at MR 1/1894, and 2 seem not to have survived
