14 items (enclosures in letter of 26 April 1847 from Alexander Brown, Lt Colonel CRE) extracted from WO 44/507. Maps and plans of military buildings proposed to be built on the Sober Islands, off Trincomalee, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka). (1) Plan of Battery no 1, Little Sober Island. Scale: 1 inch to 20 feet. (2) Sections through proposed Battery no 1, Little Sober Island. Scale: 1 inch to 20 feet. (3) Plan and section of Battery no 2, Little Sober Island. Scale: 1 inch to 20 feet. [?Drawn by] A Ross, Capt RE. (4) Plans and sections of Battery no 3, Great Sober Island. Scale: 1 inch to 20 feet. (5) 'Plan of Great Sober Island, enlarged from the general plan of the harbour; shewing the position of the proposed Batteries N os 3, 4, 5, of Tower N o II and of the other buildings proposed to be erected'. Reference table to fortifications. Scale: 1 inch to 500 feet. Compass indicator. (6) Plan and sections of Batteries nos 4 and 5, Great Sober Island. Scale: 1 inch to 20 feet.
