Four sheets of drawings of proposed installations for the Rock Perch, on the River Mersey, near Liverpool, Lancashire (now in Merseyside). (1) Copy of (2), made by S B Howlett, Royal Military Surveyor, Inspector General's Office, 19 May 1825. (2) 'Plan and Sections of Colonel Pilkington's Work proposed to be executed on the Rock near the Perch, with the alterations... by Captain Kitson Royal Engineers, constructed for five guns round the parapet and one on each Tower'. Scale: 6.2 inches to 90 feet. Signed by John S Kitson, Capt RE, 14 May 1825, to accompany letter to General Mann. (3) Copy of (4), made by S B Howlett, Royal Military Surveyor, Inspector general's Office, 19 May 1825. (4) 'Plan of the Ground at the Perch Rock on the West Side of the River Mersey, near Liverpool'. With a section. Scale: plan 5.5 inches to 100 yards; section 11 inches to 500 yards. Signed by John S Kitson, Capt RE,, to accompany letter of 14 May 1825 to General Mann. Dimensions of sheets: (1) 52.8 cm x 41.7 cm; (2) 52.8 cm x 40.6 cm; (3) 41.4 cm x 52.6 cm; (4) 40.6 cm x 52.6 cm.
