Cape of Good Hope (now in South Africa). 'Lions Head and Lions Rump as seen from the Citadel': elevation between the guardhouse below the Lion and Chavonne's battery at sea level. The heights of the head and the rump above the horizon, the distance between them, and the height of the lowest point between them are given. Signed by G Bridges, Capt RE, 1799.
