Map of the continent of Africa as far north as 16°S. Reference table. Scale not stated: latitudes and longitudes shown; calculated as 1 inch to about 50 miles. The title includes a list of authorities consulted (the area north of 20°S is 'from Dr. Livingston'). The assistance of the Colonial Secretary, R W Rawson, in giving Hall access to official documents, is acknowledged. Dedicated to Sir George Grey, KCB. Engraved and printed by J A Crew, 8 Shortmarket Street, Cape Town. Endorsed: 'Rec d March 1858'.
