Annotations indicate that they were drawn to accompany Captain [William Francis] Dawson's report of January 1827 on the fortifications of Ceylon; this may be an error for January 1828, since sheets 1 and 3 are stated to have been drawn in December 1827. Detailed descriptions are given at item level.
