Description

Fourteen sheets of drawings of The Hexagon on Spike Island, Cork, County Cork, Ireland. There are two sets, each consisting of drawings numbered 1-6: one set consists of originals and one of copies. (1) Copy of (2). (2) No 4: end elevation of officers' barracks. Scale: 1 inch to 8 feet. (3) Copy of (14) at a reduced scale of 1 inch to 100 feet. Annotated: accompanying Lt Colonel Fenwick's letter of 2 May 1808 to Lt General Morse. (4) Copy of (10). (5) Copy of (8). (6) No 3: section and elevations of officers' barracks. Scale: 1 inch to 8 feet. (7) Copies of (9) and (11) on one sheet. (8) No 6: section and elevations of soldiers' barracks. Scale: 1 inch to 8 feet. (9) No 2: plan of lower floor of officers' barracks. Scale: 1 inch to 8 feet. (10) No 5: floor plans of soldiers' barracks. Scale: 1 inch to 8 feet. (11) No 2: plan of upper floor of officers' barracks. Scale: 1 inch to 8 feet. (12) Second copy of (14) at reduced scale. (13) Copy of (6). (14) No 1: outline plan of the fort. Scale: 1 inch to 50 feet. All stamped in the offices of the Board of Ordnance and the Inspector General of Fortifications.
