Two plans of Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. (1) 'Sketch of the Gallows Hill near Aberdeen - on which the Corporation have a private Magazine ...'. Scale: 5 inches to 200 feet. (2) 'Sketch of the Harbour of Aberdeen Shewing the Situation of the proposed New Battery for Six 24 Pounders on traverse Carriages with a Magazine, Guard house and Conductor's Quarters in the Rear': plan and section. Also shows lines of fire from existing and proposed batteries. Reference table to batteries. Scale: plan 6.5 inches to about 1,000 yards; section 1 inch to 30 feet. Compass indicator. Both produced in the Royal Engineers Office, Edinburgh, 23 July 1813 and accompanied Major [J Carmichael-]Smyth's letter of 12 August 1813 to Lt General Mann. Dimensions of sheets: (1) 25.4 cm x 29 cm; (2) 50.8 cm x 66 cm.
