Koblenz (now in Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany). (1) 'Plan of the Citadel of Ehrenbreitstein, and of the works on the right Bank of the Rhine, at Coblentz copied by Henry E. Allen. Lieut t. Royal Engineers. June 1834'. Also 'profile of the face of a bastion and counterguard of the North front of Ehrenbreitstein'. Details of plateaux, ravines and hillside behind fortifications. (2) 'Plan of the Town and Fortifications on the Left Bank of the Rhine, at Coblentz. Copied by Roger Stewart Beatson, Lieutenant Royal Engineers, 1834'. Shows Fort Alexander and surrounding countryside. Scale: 4.6 inches to 300 rods [1:9,360]. Dimensions of sheets: (1) 59 cm x 41 cm, (2) 81 cm x 54 cm. The originals of which these are copies were drawn by Lt Humfrey, 'late R.A.'; this may be John Hambly Humfrey, who moved to the Royal Staff Corps on 1 May 1827.
