London: six copies of a survey of Westminster, Chelsea and Kensington, originally made by J P Desmaretz in 1717. Endorsed: 'Art and Science Department 10 December 1862'. These copies are not at the same scale as the original: the Board of Ordnance stamp is at a reduction of approximately 5 to 9. On this basis, the scale of the copy is about 1 inch to 170 yards and that of the original about 1 inch to 300 yards.
The sixth copy appears to have been added when the maps were re-repaired in 1988.
