Five sheets of plans of a military establishment near New Amsterdam, Berbice, at the confluence of the rivers Berbice and Canje. (1) Plan and section of the sluice. Scale: 1 inch to 10 feet. (2) No 1: general plan. With reference table. Scale: 1 inch to about 175 feet. Compass indicator. With a section and inset sketch map showing the situation of the new establishment relative to the sea. (3) No 2: plans, section and elevation of the Officers' barrack, 'negro' houses attached, and hospital. Scale: plans 1 inch to 20 feet; sections 1 inch to 8 feet. (4) No 3: plans and sections of storehouse, guardhouse, wharf, sluice, cooking house and magazine. Scale: 1 inch to 10 feet. (5) No 4: plans and sections of the houses of the Commandant, the Resident Engineer, the Storekeeper, the Commanding Officer of Artillery, the Principal Medical Officer and the Chief Commissary. Scale: 1 inch to 10 feet. All to accompany report and estimate by George Gipps, Capt RE, 15 July 1825. Dimensions of sheets: (1) 36.1 cm x 39.9 cm; (2) 56.4 cm x 87.1 cm; (3) 58.4 cm x 90.2 cm; (4) 58.4 cm x 92.2 cm; (5) 59.9 cm x 89.9 cm.
