Map of France, showing garrison towns with numbers of troops. Tables in side margins name the towns, the regiments in each garrison with strengths. Scale: 2.85 inches to 100 miles. The date, taken from the War Office docket book, is likely to be correct: the date of the map presumably lies between 1768 when Corsica was ceded to France (Corsica is shown as having a French garrison) and 1780 (the named regiments include Dillon's Irish stationed at Cambrai; Theobald Dillon became Lieutenant Colonel in Dillon's Regiment in 1780).
