Sketched and compiled in 1895 by E M Woodward, Capt Leicestershire Regimentt, DAAG, under the direction of Gen Sir A J Lyon Fremantle. Detail based on triangulation executed for the six-inch map of the Malta Public Works Department. Coastline taken from Admiralty charts. Spelling of place names revised by N Vassallo, chief draughtsman, Public Works Department. Photozincographed at the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton, 1897. Published on behalf of the War Office by Edward Stanford, Charing Cross, London. Stamped in the Intelligence Division, War Office, 7 June 1898.
