Description

Plans of Government property in Canada. (1) 'Skeleton Map Shewing... the relative positions of the Ord ce Properties and Military Reserves in Canada West, exclusive of those along the Rideau Canal, and more fully detailed on the accompanying Plans ...'. Key to properties, with acreage; a note reads: 'Besides the above, the Islands at the Sault St. Mary, and parts, or the whole, of the I. St. Joseph, are considered as Military Reserves'. Green colour added to show the boundary with the United States of America. (2-30) 29 plans of individual properties: Penetaugushene, Nottawasaga, Point Edward, Windsor, Amherstburgh (Bois Blanc Island), Point Pelée, Rondeau, Chatham, London, Turkey Point, Port Maitland, Fort Erie, Chippawa, Lyons Creek, Queenston, Niagara, Short Hills, Burlington Heights, Toronto, Cape Vesey, Snake Island, Horse Shoe Island, Cataraqui Bay, Kingston, Grants Island, Prescot, Cornwall, Fighting Island. All 30 sheets (signed) R Pilkington, draughtsman, and Henry Vavasour, Col CRE Canada, 26 October 1850. Drawn in transfer lithography by J G Kelly.
