'Plan of the Town, M[o]un[t]a[i]n and Bay of Gibraltar as now fortifyed with the designs of such additional Works as are judg'd necessary to be made for the security of them, by R.K. 5 March NS 1712'. Scale: 4.2 inches to 1,200 feet. Compass star. Reference table to defences, buildings etc. Annotated: 'Note Col. King informed Lord Poulett that there is no proper sand at Gibraltar for building'. The hills around the town and the Rock are in rough perspective. Inset: map of the Straits. 'R.K.' is probably Col Richard King, an engineer officer. Extracted from the papers of Jeffrey, 1st Baron Amherst.
