'A New and Correct Chart extending from London Bridge to Orford Ness... and South Foreland': two combined parts comprising the northern half of chart of the estuary and coast from Canvey Island to Aldeburgh, showing soundings, sand banks, navigation routes and major coastal features and towns. Reference table. Approximate scale: 1 inch to 1.5 nautical miles [1:109,440]. Compass stars. Inset: 'Course of The River Thames from London to Sea Reach'; with compass indicator. Surveyed by George Burn and other Royal Navy Masters and Pilots. Dedicated to Admiral Lord Viscount Duncan; and published by Laurie and Whittle, London, 12 May 1800. Coloured MS annotation: 'N o 58'; in the position of Martello Tower "CC", Slaughden, Aldborough, built c1810-1812. Stamped: Inspector General of Fortifications; and Board of Ordnance. Endorsed: '[Plan] N o 4 accompanying Major Bryce's Report October 1805'.
