(1) 'Map of Zulu Land compiled from most recent information... 12 July 1879': showing mission stations, kraals, laagers, tribal areas with numbers of males, forts and camps. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to 5 miles. Compass indicator. Inset: 'Sketch of Mouth of False Emlalazi River'; approximate scale: 1:44,076; by Captain A F Hart, 31st (Huntingdonshire) Regiment of Foot, (Brigade Major, 2nd Brigade, 1st Division South African Field Forces). Compiled and lithographed at the Intelligence Branch, Quarter Master General's Department, 1879. (2) Duplicate of (1); with MS pencil additions; and annotation referring to a proposed transfer of land at Ekowe to SSW [?Secretary of State for War], initialled E I B, 8 November 1889.
