MS pencil note and coloured MS additions showing the extent of War Department land purchased under Defence Act of January 1875, spot heights, trial pits and the High Water Mark in December 1874. Annotated: 'A. J.O.G.'; 'To accompany report 12.11.75'; signed Major F A Marindin, Royal Engineers. Initialled: [?C T S]. Endorsed: 'Plan showing levels... "Plan A" in suit [Petition of Right of Colonel George] Tomline v. War Dep t. Ipswich Jan 4. 1876'.
