(1) 'Sketch Shewing the Relative Situation of the Frontier Fortresses of France As occupied by the Allied Army With respect to each other and to Paris': map showing fortresses, roads, rivers and hills between Dunkirk and Fort Louis on the River Rhine, with a southern extension to Paris. Reference table of fortresses and nationalities of garrisons. Compass indicator. Signed by Colonel J Carmichael Smyth, Commanding RE, Cambrai, 17 May 1816. (2) Reduced scale copy of (1), with extension to include Rheims added in pencil. By J Field, Royal Military Surveyor and Draughtsman 3rd Class, 20 August 1816.
