Description

Newfoundland (now part of Canada): St John's. The harbour and surrounding country; showing place names, numbered lots and roads. Scale: 1 inch to 400 feet [1:4800]. Compass indicator. By T G W Eaststaff, Royal Military Surveyor and Draughtsman. Signed by Captain E W Durnford, Commanding RE, 30 September 1811. Inset plans: (1) Buildings near Queen's Battery; scale: 1 inch to 50 feet [1:600]; (2) Ordnance Yard; scale: 1 inch to 60 feet [1:720]; (3) Signal Hill; and (4) Fort Townshend; both at scale: 1 inch to 200 feet [1:2400].
