Hampshire. (2) 'A Plan of Portsmouth Harbour and Spit-Head with y e Soundings, shewing the Places Fortified, and Land Purchased for better Security of the Dock; laid down by Talbot Edwards, Second Engineer of England 1716': showing Portsmouth and Gosport, fortifications, Port Caesar (Portchester) Castle and the harbour with soundings and sailing ships. Title in decorative cartouche. Reference table. Approximate scale: 8.4 inches to 1 mile [1:7,543]. Compass indicator. Surveyed by Talbot Edwards, drawn by C Lempriere, 1716. (1) Similar version of (2); endorsed: 'Copy'. For later similar versions of (1) see MPHH 1/140 and MPH 1/343
