Description

6 items, numbered (1)-(6), extracted from ADM 199/1648. Maps with coloured, MS additions illustrating operations of 21 Army Group 6 June 1944 to 5 May 1945. (1) GSGS 2738 France, sheets 3a and 8: Cherbourg and Caen. Compass indicator. Compiled, drawn and photolithographed by the Ordnance Survey 1914. Published by the War Office 1914. Revised 1938. Partially revised 1942. Revised and photolithographed by the Ordnance Survey 1943. 4th edition, 'Army/Air', 1943. (2) Northern France and Belgium: sheets 8, NW 48/2 and NE 48/2, showing the advance to Brussels and Antwerp and the clearing of the Channel ports. (3) Holland and Ruhr: sheets 2A and 3A, 3 and K51 - K53, showing the advance to Nijmegen and Arnhem. (4) Antwerp to Lower Rhine: sheets 2A and 3A, 2 and 3, showing operations to open Antwerp and clear the lower Rhine. Compass indicator. (5) Rhine to Baltic: sheets NE 50/6 and 10, and NE 52/6 and 10, showing the crossing of the Rhine and the advance to the Baltic. (6) Normandy to Baltic: parts of sheets B1 and B2. Scales: (1) and (3)-(4) 1:250000; (2) and (5) 1:5000000; (6) 1:2000000. Sheet sizes between 97 cm x 93 cm and 84 cm x 84 cm.
