South East England. Chart of the coast between Thorpeness in Suffolk and Dover in Kent, showing soundings. Reference notes on navigation. Scale: 1 inch to about 1.62 miles. Compass indicators. Surveyed by John Purdy; engraved by Alexander Finlay; published by Richard Laurie, 12 July 1831. 6 insets: (i) Chart of the River Thames from London to its estuary; reference table; scale: 1 inch to about 1.54 miles; compass indicator. (ii) Chart of the River Medway from Rochester to the Nore; reference table; scale: 1 inch to about 1.03 miles; compass indicator. (iii) Map of the Isle of Thanet, Kent; scale: 1 inch to about 0.89 miles; compass indicator. (iv) Chart of Ramsgate harbour, Kent; scale: 1 inch to about 800 feet [1:9,600]; compass indicator. (v-vi) Views of the coast at Ramsgate harbour and of Tilbury Fort, Essex.
