'Plan of Harwich and it's [sic] Vicinity': map, also covering Shotley Gate and the Landguard peninsula, showing government property; also shows soundings in Harwich harbour, the River Orwell and the River Stour. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to 400 feet. Compass indicator. Signed by Lieutenant J Walpole, Royal Engineers, 2 April 1832; and by Lieutenant Colonel G Horte, Royal Engineers, 4 April 1832. Various MS amendments and additions, some in pencil, to defences; the latest one dated 2 January 1861.
