Lancashire and Cheshire: Liverpool. Six sheets of plans and sections of defences on both banks of the River Mersey: (1) a three-gun battery proposed to be built on the embankment in front of the docks; (2-4) a dock perch and five-gun battery proposed to be built on the western [Cheshire] bank; (5) the proposed north battery; (6) existing batteries. Scale: (1) 1 inch to about 13 feet; (2) 1 inch to about 90 yards (plan), 1 inch to about 45 yards (section); (3) 1 inch to about 45 yards (plan), 1 inch to about 22 yards (section); (4-5) 1 inch to about 15 feet; (6) 1 inch to about 17 feet, 1 inch to about 8 feet and 1 inch to about 160 feet. Dimensions: (1) 59 cm x 43.5 cm; (2) 48.5 cm x 62 cm; (3) 64 cm x 97 cm; (4) 85.5 cm x 59 cm; (5) 86 cm x 73.5 cm; (6) 74 cm x 129.5 cm. Each sheet signed by Lieutenant Colonel Robert Pilkington, 18 March 1814.
