Four sheets of the Ordnance Survey 1:1,056 Sheffield joined: numbers [5-6] and [11-12], together comprising a map of the Hillfoot, Lower Walkley, Philadelphia, Port Mahon, Steel Bank and Upperthorpe areas. Scale: 5 feet to 1 mile [1 inch to 88 feet]. Surveyed by Lieutenant [H W] Barlow, Royal Engineers, 1849; engraved at the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton, under the direction of Captain [W] Driscoll Gosset, Royal Engineers, 1853; published 30 June 1853. Coloured MS additions highlight the site of an old barracks; sheet numbers marked in pencil. Endorsed in MS with the date 1865.
