Cape Colony. 'Plan of the Eastern Coast of the Cape of Good Hope extending from Cape L'Aguillas [i.e. Cape Agulhas] to the Eastern Extremity of Zwartkops or Algoa Bay': map (of territory now in Western and Eastern Cape provinces, South Africa). Scale: 1 inch to about 800 Rhineland roods [1 inch to almost 2 miles]. Compass indicator. [Copied from a map] surveyed by the Dutch colonial government, 1789-1790; this copy signed by Captain Henry Smart, Commanding Royal Engineer, 4 April 1816.
