'Military Survey of Hottentot Holland with the Country about Gordon's Bay ...': map (of territory now in Western Cape province, South Africa), showing rivers and roads, and estates with their proprietors' names. Scale: 4 inches to 1 mile. Compass indicator. Surveyed by Lieutenant Smart, Royal Engineers, December 1806, on the orders of Captain Carmichael Smith, Commanding Royal Engineer. A note states that the map was prepared for the Inspector General of Fortifications.
