Dorset: Isle of Portland. Map showing field names. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to 8 chains [10 inches to 1 mile]. Compass indicator. Copied from a survey by John Taperell, June 1827; this copy signed by J Nightingale, Office of the Inspector General of Fortifications, 15 October 1835. MS addition show a [proposed] breakwater in Portland Harbour; reference notes on its size and cost; a note states that the first stone was laid by Prince Albert, 25 July 1849.
