Portugal: Cascais. 11 sheets of plans and sections of fortifications. (1, 8) 'No. 7 Section thro', the Citadel... at Cascaes': two copies of a sheet bearing two sections. (2-3) 'No. 9 Section... of the Fort of Bugia': two copies. (4-5) 'No. 8 Plan of Ground adjacent to Cascaes': two copies. (6-7) 'No. 6 Sections in the Fort of Cascaes': two copies of a sheet bearing three sections. (9-11) 'No. 5 Plan of the Fort and Citadel at Cascaes': three copies. Reference tables to items (2-3). Scale: (1, 6-8) 1 inch to 15 feet [1:180]; (2-3) 1 inch to 10 feet [1:120]; (4-5) 6 inches to 1 mile [1:10,560]; (9-11) 1 inch to 40 feet [1:480]. Items (1, 3-4, 7, 11) [the original drawings] signed by [Major] R Fletcher, Royal Engineers, 1808. (2) Copied by T Beer, 24 November 1808; (5) copied by [Richard Searle], November 1808; (6) copied by W B Carrique, November 1808; (8) copied by G Williams; (9) copied by J Bartley, 12 January 1809; (10) copied by W B Carrique, 24 December 1808. Sheet sizes between 27 cm x 45 cm and 59 cm x 85 cm.
