Nova Scotia (now part of Canada): Halifax. Eight sheets of plans and drawings of Fort George, as proposed to be rebuilt on Signal Hill: (1, 7-8) plans of the whole fort and its surroundings; (2-4) sheets of sections of the whole fort; (5-6) two copies of a sheet bearing a plan, elevation and sections of casemated cavalier, proposed to be built within the fort. Items (1, 7-8) bear reference tables to buildings. Scale: (1, 7-8) 1 inch to 100 feet [1:1,200]; (2-4) 1 inch to 30 feet [1:360]; (5-6) 1 inch to 10 feet [1:120]. Compass indicators to items (1) and (8). Items (2, 5, 7-8) [by] John G Toler; item (4) [by] Lieutenant Thomas Henry Blackiston. All items signed by Colonel Gustavus Nicolls, Royal Engineers, 20 December 1825. Originally accompanied a letter from Colonel Nicolls to General Mann, 20 December 1825; the letter is not preserved at this reference.
