Scale: 2 inches to about 3 miles. Compass indicator to items (3, 5-6). (1) [Copied by William Booth, June 1764]; (2) [?]the original map, [made c1736]; (3) [made c1765]; (4) copied by Charles Holloway, 8 June 1771; (5) copied by F Gould [c1770]; (6) [copied c1770]. 7 insets to each of items (3, 5-6): plans of: Arundel Haven and Littlehampton, Newhaven, Seaford town and east fort, and Hastings town and east and west forts. Scale: 1 inch to 2,000 feet [1:24,000] (Newhaven); 1 inch to 1,000 feet [1:12,000] (Arundel Haven and Seaford town); 1 inch to 40 feet [1:480] (Hastings town); 1 inch to 30 feet [1:360] (forts).
