Description

1 item (originally accompanying a report on arrangements for the defence and protection of foreign interests in Canton, by Rear-Admiral J Stirling and Commander J Abbot, 22 December 1854) extracted from FO 17/218 (folio 261). China: Canton (now Guangzhou). Map of the city and harbour, showing roads, buildings and gardens. Dated January 1855. Stirling and Abbot's report was enclosure number 2 in despatch number 237 from Sir John Bowring, British Consul, Canton, 25 December 1854.
