Two enclosure award maps of Binstead, Hampshire. (1) 'Map A'. Shows parish church, other buildings, paths, roads, enclosures and plot numbers, previous strip fields, woodland, watercourses, trigonometrical measurements; land purchased by railway company. There is an additional note on the railway company's Act of Parliament. Scale: 1 inch to 3 chains. Compass star. Outlines examined and approved 16 December 1856. Allotments examined and approved 7 January 1857 by Lt Col Robert K Dawson, Assistant Enclosure Commissioner. Deposited for inspection and signed by N Wetherall, Assistant Commissioner. (2) 'Map B'. Shows parish church, other buildings, enclosures and plot numbers, previous strip fields, watercourses, remaining common lands. Scale: 1 inch to 6 chains. Compass star. Stamped in the office of the Enclosure Commissioners on various dates 1854 to 1855. Both maps approved and sealed by W Blamire and H C Mules, Commissioners of Enclosure 29 January 1857. Dimensions: (1) 327 cm x 257 cm; (2) 276 cm x 222 cm.
