A large map, in two sheets, of the West Indies, with the Gulf of Mexico and Central America. (1) The eastern part. (2) The western part. Soundings and currents shown. Scale: 1 inch to about 25 miles. Dedication in rococo cartouche. Compass stars and lines. Description table. 'To his most excellent Majesty George the 111d. King of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, Defender of the Faith; &c. &c. This Chart of the West Indies is humbly inscribed by his Majestys most faithful subject and servant Joseph Smith Speer, Capt. in his Majesty's 49th. Regt. of Foot.' I. Bayly, Sculpt. Londini, 1771. Published 31 August 1774. Dimensions of sheets: (1) 170 cm x 137 cm; (2) 171.5 cm x 150 cm.
