3 items extracted from C 54/4586 mm 8-10. Yorkshire, West Riding: Huddersfield. 3 plans of the Thornhill estate. (1) 'Plan of Miss Clara Thornhill's estate at Hill-house as set out to be let on building leases...' Shows buildings, plot ownership, roads, main sewers and streets of Miss Thornhill's estate to be dedicated. Scale: 1 inch to 80 feet. Table of length of streets to be dedicated. Compass star. (2) 'Plan of Miss Clara Thornhill's estate at Lindley as set out to be let on building leases...' Shows buildings, plot ownership, roads, main sewers and streets of Miss Thornhill's estate to be dedicated. Scale: 1 inch to 2 chains. Table to length and width of streets to be dedicated. Compass star. (3) 'Plan of part of Miss Clara Thornhill's estate in Lindley near Edgerton to be let on lease in villa sites..., designed by W.Pontey of Kirkheaton, landscape gardener'. Shows turnpike roads and occupation road, intended new streets, land recently purchased of Morton's Assignees, division and area of lots of land not to be built on at present, main drains or sewers. With reference table and table to length of streets to be dedicated. Scale: about 1 inch to 43 feet. Compass star. Signed 'William Pontey', and 'Alfred Brown, John H.Ramsbotham, Christopher White'. All made in connection with the deed of dedication, dated 21 May 1853, concerning the estate of Clara Thornhill.
