19 items extracted from FO 97/422. Ottoman Empire: Egypt. Maps, diagrams and sketches of the Suez Isthmus and Suez Canal. Detailed descriptions are given at item level.
An index of these maps remains at the parent reference. In this index: number 1 corresponds to items 1-2; number 2 corresponds to items 3-4; number 3 corresponds to item 5; number 4 corresponds to item 6; number 5 corresponds to item 7; number 6 corresponds to items 8-9; number 7 corresponds to item 10; number 8 corresponds to items 11-12; number 9 corresponds to item 13; number 10 corresponds to items 14-17; number 11 corresponds to item 18; number 12 corresponds to item 19.
The despatches to which these maps relate are not found at the parent reference. The parent document now contains only the dummy sheets referring to these maps, MS cover sheets relating to each map, and a MS index to the maps. The maps that are now items 10 and 16 seem to have been confused with each other at or before the time when the parent volume was made up.
