India: Madras (now Chennai). Five items. (1) Cover sheet, bearing a list of sheets numbered 1-4 (items (2-5) below); marked 'Tray No. 90/6'. (2-5) four sheets of plans, elevations and sections: (2) number 1: general plan of the beach batteries; (3) number 2: Clive's battery; (4) number 3: the lighthouse battery; (5) number 4: Napier battery. Reference table to armaments on each item; item (2) also bears brief reference notes on military land. Scale: (2) 6 inches to 1 mile [1:10,560]; (3) plan at 1 inch to 8 feet [1:96]; elevation at 1 inch to 6 feet [1:72]; sections at 1 inch to 4 feet [1:48], 1 inch to 6 feet, 1 inch to 8 feet and 1 inch to 10 feet [1:120]; (4-5) plans and elevations at 1 inch to 20 feet [1:240]; sections at 1 inch to 10 feet. Compass indicator to each item. Traced from original maps signed by Major A Kelly, Royal Engineers, Executive Engineer, Military Works, Madras Division, 21 November 1898. Traced by (1) E Bukhsh, 26 September 1899; (2) M Ealh, 15 June 1899; (3-4) J M Rawal, 13 June 1899. Certified as true copies by Captain A J H Swiney, Royal Engineers.
