Northumberland: Tynemouth. 13 sheets of plans, elevations and sections of the castle. (1) Plans of the first and attic floors of the Officer's barrack over the gateway, and a section through the gateway. (2) Copy of the plans only on item (1). (3-4) Two sections through the soldiers' barrack and kitchen: (3) on the line C-D; (4) on the line E-F. (5-6) Two elevations of gateways: (5) on the east front; (6) on the west front, the latter also showing neighbouring ruined walls. (7) Section taken opposite the western gateway. (8-12) Six sections of walls, on five sheets: (8) on the line C-D, north side of the castle; (9) on the line D-E, north side; (10) on the line K-L, south side; (11) on the lines H-I, west side, and F-G, north side; (12) on the line M-N, south side. (13) Plan of the west side of the castle and surrounding area, showing the high water mark, land belonging to the Duke of Northumberland, and old and new portions of surrounding wall. Scale: 1 inch to 10 feet. Compass indicator to item (13). Items (3-13) [by] Elias Durnford, Engineer. Two overlays to item (6) showing new portions of wall. Item (13) is irregular due to damage at the lower edge.
