Kent: Chatham. Two copies of a map showing land, tenements and hereditaments [i.e. inheritable property] required to be purchased to ensure greater security of the docks, warships and stores, according to the judgement of Talbot Edwards, Engineer. Reference table to numbered points; additional reference notes to item (2). Scale: 1 inch to 8 perches [or 2 chains]. Compass indicator. Based on a survey made in 1709; (1) copied February 1719; (2) notes dated 25 September 1721. A pencilled note to item 2 refers to a related plan numbered X 54/11. Item (2) slightly perished at the edges. Dimensions: (1) 68 cm x 152 cm; (2) 67 cm x 142 cm.
