Norfolk: Great Yarmouth. Map, showing fortifications and other buildings in perspective, and waterways, with ships and boats. Scale: 1 inch to about 50 yards. Compass star; east at the top. [By] Sir Bernard de Gomme. MS additional title: 'Map of the town and Arbor of Great Yarmouth made by Sr. Ber: de Gomme the 20 October 1668'. Reference note stating that this title was copied onto the face of the map in June 1828, when the original title, on the dorse, was obscured when the map was backed with canvas, for preservation purposes, at the Drawing Room [?at the Tower of London]. When the map was placed on this roller, at the Public Record Office, in 1955, the canvas was removed.
