Scotland: Perthshire and Argyllshire (including areas now in Stirling District). Five items. (1) 'Remarks on the Country between Callender [i.e. Callander] and the Head of Loch Lubnegue [Lubnaig], thor' which the Kings Road was carried ...': sheet of notes. (2-5) Four maps of portions of the King's Road between Fort William and Stirling. (2) 'A Plan of Part of the New Road from Sterling [sic] to Fort-William ...': showing the road alongside Glen Dochart from Innishewan past Ardchyle to Lairig Cheile. Title in a shield-shaped cartouche. (3) Showing the road through the Leny Pass and alongside Loch Lubnaig. (4-5) Two copies of a map showing the road from Ben More through Tyndrum to Loch Tulla; a portion at the upper edge of item (4) is missing. Scale: (2) 1 inch to 600 yards [1:21,600]; (3) 1 inch to 200 yards [1:7,200]; (4-5) 1 inch to 400 yards [1:14,400]. Compass indicators to each of items (2-4); west at the top of item (2). Surveyed by: (2) five companies of Colonel Bocland's Regiment, 1750; (3) a detachment of Lord George Sackville's Regiment, 1749; (4-5) five companies of the Buffs and five companies of Colonel Rich's regiments in the summer 1751. All items, including (1) by Harry Gordon, Engineer. Sheet sizes between 177 cm x 75 cm and 32 cm x 20 cm.
