Essex and Hertfordshire: River Lea. Two items. (1) Section along the ground from Thorogood Sluice [at Waltham Abbey] to King's Weir [near Wormley]. (2) 'A Plan of the River Lee [or Lea] with the Navigation cut between Newman's Weir, below Waltham Abbey and Kings Weir above it: with the situation of the Royal Gunpowder Works'. Scale: (1) and horizontal scale of (2) 1 inch to 3 chains [1:2,376]; vertical scale of (2) 1 inch to 8 feet [1:96]. Compass indicator to item (2). Dimensions: (1) 35.5 cm x 119 cm; (2) 67.5 cm x 259 cm. Originally relating to a report sent from [John] Rennie [the elder] to Lieutenant-General Morse, 10 December 1807; this report is not preserved on this roll.
