North Africa. 'Copy of a General Plan of the [Spanish] Fortress of Ceuta with an explanation of all its parts... Ceuta 8th July 1797. Seen and approved Juan Bauta de Tauregui': map showing completed works, proposed works approved to be carried out, and proposed works yet to be submitted for approval; also showing unexplained numbered points. Scale: 1 inch to about 110 Spanish varas. This copy by Lieutenant Francis Wheatley, Royal Artillery; (Wheatley was promoted to Lieutenant on 1 December 1812 and superseded on 25 June 1813). MS addition expressing the scale as a ratio.
