Demise by Simon Frenssh and Hawise, his wife, for a sum of money paid in hand, to William Rok, chaplain, of a tenement with a shop in Clerkenewellestrete [St John Street in St Sepulchre], which they hold in the right of Hawise, to hold from Midsummer next for fifteen years, and if Hawise die within the term, Simon shall pay 20s yearly to William until the end of the term, and when Simon is bound by writing obligatory to William in £30 to be paid at a day and place named therein, William grants hereby that, if the present agreements be kept, such writing obligatory shall be void. 17 May, 39 Edw III.
